PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE CONTACTING US.

The Brooklyn Animal Foster Network is NOT a shelter.

BAFN consists of more than 450 families and individuals who have opened their homes to the animals we remove from the Brooklyn Animal Care and Control Center as New Hope Partners and those brought to us who were found on the streets.

What if we can't take your pet?

If we can not take your pet it is because we do a kind of rescue triage here. Homeless and shelter animals come first.

Owner surrendered animals at the NYC Animal Care and Control Shelter are in immediate danger of being destroyed. No matter how cute and cuddly your companion animal is.

Although the shelter is doing the best they can, they are overwhelmed with animals and cannot possibly house the thousands upon thousand of homeless animals in NYC.

Lastly, don't fool yourself into thinking that your cute little dog, or purbaby cat will not be destroyed. There is a very good chance they will.
