It is with deep sadness that BAFN is suspending its services for the unforseen future. We simply cannot afford to maintain our organization after a very difficult summer season. In 2008, BAFN came to the aid of an extraordinary amount of orphaned and abandoned companion animals in Brooklyn and it has completely depleted our resources. As foreclosure signs sprang up across NYC this summer, so did the number of frantic e-mails desperately seeking our help. An unusually warm winter in 2008 meant a devasting kitten season that we addressed all summer. And a downturn in the economy dampned our only source of reliable income — adoption fees.
If you have adopted from BAFN and need to speak to a representative please call 718-789-6865.
If you are currently fostering a BAFN pet, we will continue to help you until your foster Our Saturday adoption events in Park Slope will continue with the fosters we still have in our network.
Note: If you have a pet you need to rehome you may bring him/her to the event to introduce him/her to the public. Any adoptions will be between you and the adopter and BAFN will not be held responsible for the outcome. Your dog should be non aggressive to people and dogs or you and your charge will be asked to leave. Please bring along as much adoption and medical paperwork as you possess.
